29 CFR 1910.178(l)(1)(i): The employer did not ensure that each powered industrial truck operator is competent to operate a powered industrial truck safely, as demonstrated by the successful completion of the training and evaluation specified in this paragraph (l) AND AS REFERENCED BY THE NOTE CONTAINED IN 1926.602(d): On or about July 14, 2017 and there prior, the employer authorized employees and subcontract-employees to operate powered industrial trucks without ensuring that they were certified competent operators. Employees were not certified and evaluated according to the specifications in this standard.
