29 CFR 1910.269(a)(2)(i)(B): Each employee shall also be trained in and familiar with any other safety practices, including applicable emergency procedures (such as pole-top and manhole rescue), that are not specifically addressed by this section but that are related to his or her work and are necessary for his or her safety. a. Plant Bowen - Employees were not trained in the special techniques necessary for identifying cables that were energized with DC voltage, in that the detection instrument used would only register AC voltage. Therefore, the employer did not develop and implement an adequate safety practice to protect workers against electric shock or electrocution from exposure to cables energized with DC voltage.
