29 CFR 1910.138(b): The employer did not base selection of appropriate hand protection on an evaluation of the performance characteristics of the hand protection relative to the tasks to be performed, conditions present, duration of use, and the hazards and potential hazards identified: a). Powder Coating Department - The employer did not provide employees with adequate hand protection while powder coat spray painting. Employees use latex type gloves that are too short as a result exposes employees to skin rashes from exposure to 1,3,5 triglycidyl isocyanurate (TGIC), on or about February 12, 2016. Abatement certification required within 10 days after abatement date. The certification shall include a statement that abatement is complete, date and method of abatement, and state employees and their representatives were informed of this abatement.
