Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 001A Hazard: BURNS
Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that: (a) Flock Division: Employees were exposed to the hazard of being burned from fire and/or explosion on 3/6/93 as a result of fire(s) in flocking process equipment. The following alleged violations have been grouped because they involve similar or related hazards that may increase the potential for injury resulting from an accident or illness. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable method to correct this hazard is to install automatic fire detection and suppresion equipment in all automatic flocking process equipment, including the fabric dryer.
