Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that: The following alleged violations have been grouped because they involve similar or related hazards that may increase the potential for injury resulting from an accident or illness. (a) Roof Area: During the period from 7/7-27/92, employees engaged in installation of wood blocking were repeatedly exposed to the hazard of falling from the roof to the ground over 20 feet below. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method to correct this hazard is to provide safety belts to employees and insure that they are properly tied off whenever they are exposed to the hazard of falling.
