Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to: a)976 Third Avenue, Brooklyn N.Y., 1st floor: Hazard of uncontrolled rotating parts striking employee or clothing caught by machine, and not being able to instantly shut-off the Rigid 300 machine, which did not have foot pedal, on or about November 15, 1996. Abatement Note: Among other method, one feasible and accepted method to correct this hazard is to provide momentary contact device, (switch,foot pedal) as require in ANSI B205.1 1982 Section 4.4.ion
