Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 001A Hazard:
Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish to each of his employees employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized struck-by and crushed-by hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to his employees: a) This violation occurred on or about September 11, 2014, in the maintenance shop; where at least one (1) employee, who was performing service and maintenance work on a riding lawn mower that was being lifted by a twin-post lift, was exposed to the hazards of being struck-by and crushed-by the falling mower.
