OSH ACT of 1970 Section (5)(a)(1): Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to fall and crushing hazards: a. On or about October 1, 2014, in the roof trusses, four employees installing hip roof framing and interior wall framing were exposed to 8 to 16 feet fall hazards, crush hazards, and struck-by hazards from a potential structural collapse in that the employer did not adequately brace roof trusses by follow the temporary bracing plan specified in the design engineer's Truss Design Drawings that referenced the Building Component Safety Information (BCSI) Guide to Good Practice for Handling, Installing, Restraining & Bracing of Metal Plate Connected Wood Trusses, the employer's source of recognized and generally accepted good engineering practices for temporary bracing of wood truss structures.
