29 CFR 1926.416(a)(1): Employees were permitted to work in proximity to electric power circuits and were not protected against electric shock by de-energizing and grounding the circuits or effectively guarding the circuits by insulation or other means: The employer does not ensure electrical power circuits that employees work in proximity to are de-energized and grounded or effectively guarded by insulation or other means. This violation occurred on or about July 14, 2012, and at times prior thereto, in the employee break room where employees were exposed to electrical hazards while working in proximity to electric power circuits without de-energizing and grounding the circuits or effectively guarding the circuits by insulation or other means. Pursuant to 29 C.F.R. 1903.19, within ten (10) calendar days of the abatement date, the employer must submit documentation showing that it is in compliance with the standard, including describing the steps that it is taking to ensure that electrical power circuits in proximity to where employees are working are de-energized and grounded or effectively guarded to prevent contact with the live circuit.
