Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 001 Hazard:
OSH ACT of 1970 Section (5)(a)(1): The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to struck-by and crushed-by hazards created by the use of industrial storage racks which were not anchored to the ground: a) Outside storage yard area adjacent to the Warehouse, 1214 Freedom Road, Cranberry Township, PA 16066: Observed on or about May 09, 2014, three cantilevered type industrial storage racks located in the storage yard area were not anchored to ground. The industrial storage racks were at risk of tipping over while being loaded or unloaded by forklifts. The industrial storage racks were also located in an area of delivery truck traffic. The industrial storage racks were being used to store metal pipes. Employees loading the industrial storage racks and employees working in the area of the industrial storage racks were exposed to crushed-by and struck-by hazards.
