Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 001 Hazard:
29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1): One or more methods of machine guarding were not provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, rotating parts: a/ Sabert Corporation, Sayerville, NJ: The employer did not provide machine guarding to protect employees from hazards created by moving parts while cleaning the rolls of plastic on E-1 Extruder Machine #4 . Employees were exposed to nip point hazards while conducting the daily cleaning of plastic rolls task on the chrome rollers. Condition Occurred on or about 7/19/14, 1) E-1 Extruder Machine #4 (Welex#53X18, Serial# 30-5172): Exposed moving chrome rollers not guarded during cleaning of plastic rolls process. The Sabert Corporation was previously cited for a repeat violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 29CFR 1910.212(a)(1) which was contained in OSHA inspection #313987190, citation number 1, item 3B and was affirmed as a final order on 8/10/2011, with respect to a workplace located at 878-899 Main Street Sayrevile, NJ 08872.
