At the above addressed jobsite, the elevator doors were able to be opened from floor landings without the car being at the hoist opening when the bar which locks the doors and actuates a microswitch allowing the car to traverse was not in its working position. This most recently occurred on February 06, 2014, when an employee opened a first floor elevator door and the car was not positioned in the hoistway opening.
