Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 001 Hazard:
Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which was free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to struck-by and/or caught-in-between hazards. MECHANICAL AREA; On or about November 20, 2013 the employer did not ensure that the auto lift was in safe operable condition: 1) Certification of inspection could not be produced by the employer and was not posted at or near the lift. 2) A cord attached to a 220 volt (nominal) motor was damaged. The motor was attached to the lift at the operator's station. 3) No operator's manual was available upon request.
