Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 001 Hazard:
29 CFR 1926.21(b)(2): The employer shall instruct each employee in the recognition and avoidance of unsafe conditions and the regulations applicable to his work environment to control or eliminate any hazards or other exposure to illness or injury. a. On or about September 12, 2013, a written training program identifying the hazards of the Wirtgen Road Milling Machine model #W-50-DC, serial #0905-0449 was not implemented. These hazards included, but were not limited to, rotating parts milling drum, servicing the machine, turning the machine off prior to exiting the machine, danger areas, and location of the operators and safety manuals. The GA Paving LLC., was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 29 CFR 1926.21(b)(2), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 756882, citation number 1, item number 1 and was affirmed as a final order on January 17, 2013, with respect to a workplace located at West Grace Street & North Ravenswood Ave., Chicago, IL 60613.
