OSH ACT of 1970 Section (5)(a)(1): The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to struck-by hazard. a) At the loading docks area - The dock plates were not secured and equipped with devices to prevent from injuries. The tension springs of dock plates for loading docks # 31, 32, and 35 were damaged and employees were not able to lower or raise the dock plates properly and the tension springs to pop out, exposing employees to struck-by hazard. Employees have been seriously injured by these springs popping out while lifting and lowering the dock plates.
