Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 001 Hazard:
Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to struck-by hazards: Cyclone Drilling, Inc. Drilling Rig 17, API 05-045-19478, Rifle, CO 81650: The employer did not maintain the condition of the flexible, high pressure hydraulic spinner hose, Spin Master's Model #550-H, for the rig floor. The hose was pinched against the spinner housing. The soft rubber cover was split open and bent exposing the hard hose line. This situation could lead to the failure of the hose due to lack of maintenance. This condition exposes employees to struck-by hazard. Abatement Note: API 7K and 7L certification requires proper maintenance of the vibrating hoses.
