Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 001 Hazard:
Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which was free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to crushing injuries from being caught between a bulldozer and a semi-truck when the bulldozer unxpectedly rolled down an incline during hookup for towing: (a) Buffalo Run Road, Jacksonburg, WV: Employees were entering an area between the dozer and semi-truck to attach the tow cable while the vehicles were parked on an incline. The employer failed to ensure safe work practices were followed to prevent the employee from being struck by the dozer or caught between the two vehicles, as determined on or about July 3, 2013.
