OSH ACT of 1970 Section (5)(a)(1): The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to crushing hazards from falling parts due to the lifting devices not being marked as to their capacities. a. Reliable Castings Corporation located in Sidney, Ohio: On or about June 26, 2013, the employer did not ensure the hook being used to lift castings from the shakeout table in the sand foundry was marked as to its rated capacity. b. Reliable Castings Corporation located in Sidney, Ohio: On or about June 26, 2013, the employer did not ensure the spreader bar and basket used to transfer parts on the impregnation line located in the machine shop was marked as to its rated capacity. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable method to correct this hazard is to ensure the under the hook lifting device is labeled according to ANSI B30.20.
