Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 001 Hazard:
OSH ACT of 1970 Section (5)(a)(1): The employer does not furnish to each of his employees employment and a place of employment which are free from recognized struck-by and/or crushed-by hazards that are causing or are likely to cause death or serious physical harm to his employees: This violation most recently occurred on or about June 28, 2013, at a workplace located at 850 E. Collins Blvd., Richardson, Texas; in a driveway; where at least one employee, who was cleaning the area, was exposed to the hazards of being struck-by and/or crushed-by moving vehicles: Among other methods, feasible and acceptable means to abate these hazards include but are not limited to: (1) Post warning signs to make motorist aware of pedestrian employees working in the area; ensure that employees wear high visible apparel to make them more visible to vehicle operators; and, instruct employees of hazards associated with working in and around construction areas with motor vehicle traffic.
