29 CFR 1910.134(e)(1): The employer did not provide a medical evaluation to determine the employee's ability to use a respirator, before the employee was fit tested or required to use the respirator in the workplace: a. Paint/Blasting area and booth: Employees are required to wear a half face tight fitting negative pressure air purifying respirator during painting operations and a supplied air hood while metal abrasive blasting. An employee was not provided with a medical evaluation prior to the wearing the respirators, as determined on 5/30/13. Martin Steel, Inc. was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 29 CFR 1910.134(e)(1), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 313372633, citation number 1, item number 1(a) and was affirmed as final order on 7/08/10, with respect to a workplace located at 603 16th Street West Huntington, WV 25704.
