OSH ACT of 1970 Section (5)(a)(1): Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to broken bones and/or possible death from a serious fall hazard while being elevated on an unapproved work platform, which mounted onto the forks of a forklift: a) Maintenance employees utilized an unapproved work platform, attached to the forks of a forklift, to elevate personnel to perform various maintenance tasks at varying heights. The work platform did not prominently indicate the maximum load including personnel and equipment, the weight of the empty platform, and the minimum capacity of truck on which the platform can be used. NO ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION OR DOCUMENTATION REQUIRED
