Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 001 Hazard: CRUSHING
Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that the interior door of the existing freight elevator was removed, exposing employees to a crushing hazard while elevator is in motion: a) Elevator F-20 - operating on all eight (8) floors of building. Observed 2/25/87. NOTE: Among others one feasible method of abatement would be to install inside door on elevator.
