Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 001 Hazard:
OSH ACT of 1970 Section (5)(a)(1): The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees: (a) Outside pipe shed: On or about April 9, 2012 and times prior thereto, employees were exposed to pinch point / struck by hazards presented during oil tote transfer operations in the motor room of drilling rig 15. Conditions were such that employees were able to position portions of their bodies between the pipe shed door and the elevator arm while removing elevator arm securing pins. Removal of the pin released the stored energy of the elevator arm. This condition exposed employees to getting struck by the elevator arm.
