Nevada Revised Statute 618.375(1): Duties of employers. Every employer shall furnish employment and a place of employment which are free from recognized hazards that are causing or are likely to cause death or serious physical harm to his or her employees. In the Large Format area of the Creative Digital Printing facility, located at 6415 Karms Park Court, Las Vegas, NV 89118, the place of employment was not furnished to be free from recognized hazards. An employee who built banners and mounted posters loaded and unloaded material from steel storage racks which were not secured to prevent movement, which exposed the employee to struck by hazards that could result in contusions, broken bones, head or spinal injuries, and up to death. Reference Section 1.4.7 under ANSI MH16.1 Specification for the Design, Testing, and Utilization of Industrial Steel Storage Racks, which covers Column Base Plates and Anchors. AMONG OTHER METHODS, ONE FEASIBLE AND ACCEPTABLE ABATEMENT METHOD WOULD BE ANCHOR THE STORAGE RACKS EITHER TO THE FLOOR OR TO THE WALL.
