Nevada Revised Statute 618.375(1): Duties of employers. Every employer shall furnish employment and a place of employment which are free from recognized hazards that are causing or are likely to cause death or serious physical harm to his or her employees: At the Ka show at the MGM Grand, employees (Spearmen in the show) were not protected or prevented from striking the overhead forest grid as they used wire rope, controllers and winches to ascend from the Sand Cliff Deck to the Forest Grid catwalk. Previous incidents have resulted from employees striking the catwalk. Among other feasible and useful methods, more limit switches could be set to prevent the employees (Spearmen in the show) from coming into contact with the overhead grid as they ascend.
