Nevada Revised Statute 618.375(1): Duties of employers. Every employer shall furnish employment and a place of employment which are free from recognized hazards that are causing or are likely to cause death or serious physical harm to his or her employees. At Pavestone's plant, the employer did not furnish a place of employment free of recognized hazards when employees were exposed to storage racks that were not anchored down. This exposed employees to crushing injuries like broken bones and death should product fall off the shelves or if the shelves were to tip over and land on the employee. 1. In the spare parts area of Pavestone, approximately 20 storage racks were not anchored down to prevent movement. Reference ANSI MH16.1 Paragraph 1.4.7. 2. At the back entrance of Pavestone, 3 storage racks were not anchored down to prevent movement. Reference ANSI MH16.1 Paragraph 1.4.7. 3. At the north side of Pavestone's bagging plant, 4 storage racks were not anchored down to prevent movement.
