North Carolina General Statute 95-129(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of North Carolina: The employer did not furnish each of his employees conditions of employment and a place of employment free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to explosion and/or fire hazards: a)facility, main building - where the employer maintained a cyclone (type JA 130, JKF Industri) inside the main building to separate fine grain particles and dust from wheat straw. ABATEMENT NOTE: a)One acceptable abatement method to correct this hazard is to relocate the cyclone (type JA 130, JKF Industri) from inside the main building to outside of the main building. Reference a)Hazards are recognized and addressed in NFPA 654 1997 Edition, Chapter 4, section 4-1.2; "Dust collectors shall be located outside of buildings. Exception No. 1: Those dust collectors protected in accordance with 3-1.1(a), (c), (d), or (e)*. Exception No. 2:* Those dust collectors located within 20 ft (6 m) of an exterior wall and equipped with deflagration vents vented through ducts to the outside."ion
