North Carolina General Statute 95-129(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health A ct of North Carolina: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of emp loyment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to c ause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to fall from elevation and struck-by hazards: a)jobsite, where, on July 25, 2012 , metal plate connected wood trusses, 17 feet above the ground, were not adequat ely supported during installation because the third bearing support was missing due to the incomplete interior masonry wall. b)jobsite, where, on July 25, 2012, metal plate connected wood trusses, 17 feet above the ground, were installed wi thout sufficient lateral restraint and diagonal bracing. Among other methods, on e feasible and acceptable abatement method would be to follow the recommendations and guidelines for handling, installing, and braci ng wood trusses of HIB-91 from the Truss Plate Institute and the booklet, "Build ing Component Safety Information -- Guide to Good Practice for Handling, Install ing, Restraining & Bracing of Metal Plate Connected Wood Trusses" (BCSI) jointly produced by the Structural Building Components Association and Truss Plate Inst itute.
