Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to struck by hazards: The roof of the garage or the shop leaks and has leaked for over five years. There are sections of the roof that have caved in. Areas of daylight can be seen. There are bar joists which appear to be supporting large sections of the roof but the wooden parts of the roof between the bar joists are the areas of concern. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable method to correct this hazard is to repair the roof so that it does not leak.
