Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to falling and being crushed by equipment: a.On or about February 15, 2012, an employee was exposed to the hazard of falling and being crushed by equipment while being raised in the bucket of a front end loader. Feasible and acceptable methods of abatement to correct the hazard include, but are not limited to the following: 1.Conform to the manufactures operators handbook (page 6) and safety directive stating not to haul personnel in the bucket or to use it as a manlift or work platform. 2.Use a ladder to reach higher elevations. 3.Use a portable scaffold to reach higher elevations. ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION AND DOCUMENTATION ARE NOT REQUIRED.TION
