Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 001 Hazard: CRUSHING
Section 5(A)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish to each of his employees employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or were lik ely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to the hazard of being crushed: On or about 04/14/2011 on a job site loc ated on 3300 S.E.19th Avenue, Fort Lauderdale Fl; an employee was exposed to the hazard of being crushed-by a truck tractor that traveled in reverse. Among othe r methods, a feasible and acceptable means of abatement is to ensure adequate tr aining is provided to employees of the truck and trailer connecting/disconnectin g procedures; and ensure employees follow the established procedures. NOTE: CERT IFICATION AND DOCUMENTATION OF ABATEMENT IS REQUIRED FOR THIS VIOLATION.
