Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to: On or about March 9, 2011, in the production area at line #3, the emergency stop actuator located on the left side of the automated saw down cut (TSD #2) was missing. The emergency stop control was not functioning and readily accessible to disengage the saw in the event the operator(s) were to be come entangled, entrapped or struck by broken parts of the rotating saw blade.
