Compressed air was being utilized on the panel saw while the CNC and other equipment was in operation. Employees were exposed to the hazard of a fire/explosion while performing assigned duties involving the manufacturing of a variety of plastic components. A sample taken on February 04, 2011 was found to be positive as a combustible dust. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method to correct the hazard is to comply with the NATIONAL FIRE PROTECTION ASSOCIATION, NFPA 654 "STANDARD for the PREVENTION of FIRE and DUST EXPLOSION from the MANUFACTURING PROCESSING AND HANDLING of COMBUSTIBLE PARTICULATE SOLIDS," EDITION 2006. The employer should ensure that all equipment is shut down and all other ignition sources are removed as specified by Section ...... of the standard. ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION AND DOCUMENTATION REQUIRED
