Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 001 Hazard: FALLING
North Carolina General Statute 95-129(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of North Carolina: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to fall hazards: a) at the site, employees are accessing the top of the tanker trailer during the lime filling operation to open and/or close the two (2) lids, thereby exposing themselves to a fall of 12'6". NOTE: Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable method to abate this hazard is to install permanent fall protection.
