Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees, in that, employees were exposed to fire and smoke inhalation hazards: Mixing Room: During the inspection, four of the six exhaust openings for the ventilation for the Class 1B flammable liquid mixing area were blocked by equipment and supplies. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable form of abatement to correct this hazard is to follow the requirements to which the rooms were designed from, NFPA 30 Flammable and Combustible Liquids Code: 2008 Edition.
