Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to struck-by hazards: (a)On or about 05/06/10 - Floor Department, two of the 1-ton Coffing Cranes did not have a safety latch on the hook. (b)On or about 05/06/20 Floor Department, the 2-ton Coffing Crane did not have a safety latch on the hook. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable method to correct this hazard is to install safety latches on the hooks in accordance with ANSI B30.16-1993, Section 16-1.2.9.
