Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 001 Hazard: CUTS
Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which was free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to amputations, broken bones and lacerations hazards. On or about March 10, 2011 and at times prior to the job site at the 859 Lallano Allen, Texas 75021; at least two employees were operating an electric pipe threader without a foot switch attached and were exposed to amputations, broken bones, and lacerations hazrads. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable means of abatement includes but is not limited to: Comply with the manufactures operations manual which contain specific safety information on page 3 which requires a foot switch pedal to be used when operating the pipe threader.
