Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to internal injuries, fractures, or death due to the collapse of roof trusses and other structural members: Hermon Plaza Addition - On or about December 16, 2009, contractors and employees working on, under, inside, and adjacent to the partially framed structure were exposed to the hazards of collapse of more than 80 inadequately braced/restrained roof trusses. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method to correct this hazard is to follow the 2008 BCSI Guide to Good Practice for Handling, Installing, Restraining & Bracing of Metal Plate connected Wood Trusses.d
