Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 001 Hazard: CRUSHING
Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to the hazards of crushing injuries from equipment rollover: a.On or about May 26, 2010, the Dynapac Pavemaster asphalt roller was being used on an uneven surface while rolling sod, exposing employees to the hazard of being crushed or pinned by the equipment from a rollover. ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION AND DOCUMENTATION ARE REQUIRED. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable method to correct the hazard is to ensure a suitable type of equipment is used for rolling sod such as a turf roller.
