Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 001 Hazard: HEAT

Section 6(a) of the Puerto Rico Occupational Safety and Health Act: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to: Seccion 6(a) de la Ley de Seguridad y Salud en el Trabajo de Puerto Rico: El patrono no proveyo empleo y un sitio de empleo libre de riesgos reconocidos que esten causando o que puedan causar muerte o dano fisico a los empleados, por cuanto empleados estaban expuestos a: a. Receive injuries due to excesive heat in the kitchen area and oven area where bread is produced due do the lack of enouth extractors and poor ventilation. Among other methods, one feasible and and acceptable abatement to correct this hazard is installing two more extractors of 24" and put two more fans. Hazard: Skin irritation and heat stress. a. Recibir lesiones debido al calor excesivo en area de la cocina y el horno donde se hace pan; debido a que no hay suficientes extractores ni ventiladores. Entre otros metodos, uno aceptable y posible para corregir este riesgo es instalar al menos dos extractores de 24" y dos abanicos adicionales. Riesgo: Irritacion piel por exceso de calor.
