Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 001 Hazard: UNCLASS
Section 5(a)(1) of the OSH Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to corrosives: a)On or about August 19, 2010, and at times prior, employees were exposed to potential eye and skin injuries in that the eyewash and safety shower stations located in the NB2 Machine Rooms were not inspected weekly. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method to correct this hazardous condition would be to ensure that plumbed equipment be tested on a weekly basis, as described in ANSI Z358.1 - Emergency Eyewash and Shower Equipment.
