Labor and Employment Article, Section 5-104(a): The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees: (a)Date of Violation:06/27/09 Location:Havre de Grace Water Treatment Plant Solids Handling Facility Equipment:P & H 670 WLC 70-Ton Crawler Crane. Condition:Employees, engaged in removing crane boom sections, did not block up the section that was being disassembled. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method to correct this hazard is to follow the manufactures recommended procedures for dismantling the crane boom. This procedure is found in Section IV ofthe operators manual and is a step by step procedure. Abatement documentation (photographs, receipts, copies of programs, training certification, etc.) is required for this item.
