Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 001 Hazard: FALLING
Section 5(a)1 of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish to each of his employees employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that powered industrial truck operators were exposed to the hazards of falling and getting caught-between a Nissan powered industrial truck: On or about 11/24/2009, at 6601 Lyons Road, Suite L-9, in Coconut Creek, Florida, a Mitsubishi powered industrial truck was being operated without attaching the seat belt. ABATEMENT NOTE: Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable means of abatement would be the use of a seat belt assembly as referenced by the American Society of Mechanical Engineers/American National Standards Institute, ASME/ANSI B56.1 NOTE: CERTIFICATION OF ABATEMENT IS REQUIRED FOR THIS VIOLATION.
