Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 001 Hazard: FALLING
Section 5(a)1 of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish to each of his employees employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to: On or about 11/19/09, at 2385-E PGA Boulevard, in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, employees were exposed to the hazard of drowning by falling into the water while operating powered industrial trucks near unguarded waterside edges. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method to correct this hazard is to provide vehicle curbs, bull rails, or other effective barriers along the waterside edges. PLEASE NOTE: CERTIFICATION AND DOCUMENTATION OF ABATEMENT IS REQUIRED FOR THIS VIOLATION.
