Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 001 Hazard: FALLING
Section 5(a)1 of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish to each of his employees employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to: On or about 11/06/09, at 18325 Collins Avenue, in Sunny Isles, Florida, an employee conducting painting work from a boatswains' chair, approximately 42 stories above ground level, was using a lifeline that was connected with a knot to the connector. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method to correct this hazard is follow the general requirements outlined in the American National Standards Institute, ANSI A10.32-2004 "Fall Protection Systems for Construction and Demolitions". PLEASE NOTE: CERTIFICATION AND DOCUMENTATION OF ABATEMENT IS REQUIRED FOR THIS VIOLATION.
