Section 5(a)1 of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish to each of his employees employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to: On or about 10/21/09, an employee was observed standing on the second rung from top of a fiber glass step ladder that he was using to replace broken light bulbs. Among other methods of abatement, one feasible and acceptable means of abatement is to follow the manufacturers warning on the label, and do not use the top two rungs of the ladder. PLEASE NOTE: CERTIFICATION OF ABATEMENT IS REQUIRED FOR THIS VIOLATION.
