North Carolina General Statute 95-129(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of North Carolina: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to fall and struck-by hazards: a)jobsite, 1122 Sam Newell Road, on 2/13/09, for the employees setting trusses on a 10 foot wall. Employer failed to adequately anchor the walls to the foundation to prevent excess movement during placement of trusses, exposing employees to fall and struck-by hazards. Abatement Note: among other methods, one feasible method to reduce this hazard would be to anchor and brace all walls before setting the trusses.
