Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to: a)Second Level, Pistorius (Torit) Dust Collector Model P19-FB: The collector which recycles exaust air was not provided with a listed spark detection and extinguishing system, on or about June 25, 2009. b)Second Level, Pistorius (Torit) Dust Collector Model P20-3FB55: The collector which recycles exaust air was not provided with a listed spark detection and extinguishing system, on or about June 25, 2009. c)Second Level, Pistorius (Torit) Dust Collectors listed above were located in the same room but were not separated by at least 20 feet, on or about June 25, 2009. d)Second Level, Pistorius (Torit) Dust Collectors listed above were cleaned with compressed air although electrical power was not shut down, on or about June 25, 2009. e)Second Level, Pistorius (Torit) Dust Collectors: The collected dust collector was removed on a daily basis, on or about June 25, 2009. ABATEMENT NOTE: Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method to correct to correct the hazard is to comply with the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA 664) "Standards for the Prevention of Fires and Explosion in Wood Processing and Woodworking Facilities."
