Labor and Employment Article, Section 5-104(a): The employer did not furnish emp loyment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that w ere causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees: (a)D ate of Violation:On or about 11/17/08 Location:Rear of the Home Condition:Employ ees felled a tree without having planned and established an unobstructed escape route. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method to corr ect the hazard is to follow the requirements set forth in A.N.S.I. Z133.1-2006, sections 8.5.3 through 8.5.4 which requires workers not directly involved in rem oving trees to be clear of the area and a planned escape route planned, with obs tructions cleared along the escape. Abatement documentation (photographs, receip ts, copies of programs, training certification, etc.) is required for this item.
