Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 001 Hazard: FALLING
Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious harm to employees in that: a) On or about September 24, 2008, on the east side of building 402, a midrail was not in place on one end of the Commander JLG scissor lift (model # 2033) platform exposing an employee to a 20 - 25' fall hazard. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable means to correct this hazard includes, but is not limited to, enforcing the use of the midrail provided as part of the guardrail system of the scissor lift in accordance with ANSI/SIA A92.6 (1999), "Self-Propelled Elevating Work Platform".
